Garranos are more than just horses – they are a living reflection of a landscape that remains untouched. This indigenous Iberian breed lives freely in the mountains of Gerês, forming herds that gallop in complete harmony with nature. Following them through the mountains is like going back to the origins of the natural world.
This program will take you to the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park to observe these magnificent animals up close in their semi-wild state, crossing ancestral paths, tarns and inverneiras. It’s a unique opportunity to understand the social dynamics of the herds, their behavior and the importance of their conservation.
